With maximum output power, I'll get a better range
It's false in most situations.
As an advice, in a home environment, the best output power is not everytime the maximum. In most situations, 30mw is enough.
If you're doing long links, yes, maximum output power is the best.
I'll buy amplifiers to have a better range
That's not a very good idea because:
- Amplifier also amplify noise and that's not a good thing for link quality
- With high amplifications, you could get headache
Then you should better buy good antenna's
My card says that I have 20dBm (100mW) but i only have 18dBm, why?
Most cards have 100mW, but with the antenna (2dBi antenna). In 802.11a and 802.11g, the output power is 30mW due to modulation (it's a bit harder to use OFDM than CCK)
With a better txpower, i have receive better
That's false, txpower isn't linked with receiving at all. For receiving, you should see receive sensivity of your card
Which antenna to choose
You should see Antenna help, Selecting a Wifi Antenna and Netstumbler forum
